I started recording random melodys and ideas a few years after picking up the guitar at age 6. My first MP3 Player didn't record that well, but my first phone, a Sony Ericsson was already: also crappy.
But I just kept recording ideas. Cause I knew from experience, they otherwise would be gone in minutes, hours, days.
When I finally realized I actually could take some of my properly recorded stuff and release it to the big streaming services, I didn't really know what to do with all the recordings that weren't high quality enough for a "big release".
I only knew this:
1. I myself wanted to have a service where I could access all of these recordings for occasional listening
2. Since file management often turned out to be a problem over the years, I decided to follow a strict: "publish or delete" policy. As strictly as I could manage. Therefore
3. I thought: why not just release all of those crappy recordings? Maybe not properly, but onto some service. Like bandcamp.
4. This measns: Now we both can acess these files.
5. What if instead of making tiers on Patreon for something random I just for one: gave people the option to buy tracks or subscribe to the whole "phone recordings catalog". But at the same time leave infinite plays. Therfore buying or subscribing only makes the thing more convenient to listen, but you can still listen without paying anything.
6. Therefore I took a few dozen hours aside, and
